We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 PACFA Research Grants Initiative. This project, overseen by PACFA's Research Committee, is designed to strengthen the evidence base for counselling and psychotherapy and showcase the profession’s unique value in supporting mental health across diverse contexts.
After a highly competitive application process, four outstanding projects have been selected to receive funding.
Meet Our 2025 Grant Awardees:
Mr Adrian Antonio and Ms Candice Mace – Exploring the Efficacy of Bereavement Counselling: A Literature Review Distinguishing Counselling from Manualised or Traditional Psychological Therapy
Ms Carol du Plessis – Recommendations for counselling practitioners for working with Indigenous clients: a scoping review
Mr David Hillard – Enhancing Mental Health Services in Australia: Investigating the Integration of Counselling Placement Students with General Practitioner Clinics
Dr Emma van Daal – Scoping Review of Child Counselling and Psychotherapy Competencies: Establishing an Australian Framework
