College of Supervision: Progress and Priorities for 2026
The PACFA College of Supervision has begun 2026 with a growing community of 527 accredited supervisors and a strong focus on supporting excellence in supervision practice across Australia.
Over the past six months, the College Leadership Group has been progressing a range of initiatives designed to strengthen supervision standards, enhance professional development opportunities, and support supervisors at all stages of their careers.
Recent work has included:
- Developing Terms of Reference to guide the ongoing work of the College.
-
Introducing a new application panel process to support consistency and transparency in certification assessments.
-
Reviewing badge wording and definitions to improve clarity and consistency.
-
Continuing to deliver professional development opportunities for members.
-
Progressing the development of a Supervision Competencies document to help articulate best practice in supervision.
Looking ahead, the College of Supervision is exploring new ways to strengthen connection and learning among supervisors. This includes a proposed Supervisors' Circle of Connection, designed to support peer networking and collegial discussion. The Leadership Group is also considering greater engagement with State Leadership Groups, expanded access to supervision research, and refresher learning opportunities.
As supervision continues to play a vital role in practitioner development, wellbeing and ethical practice, the College remains committed to supporting high-quality supervision across the profession.
