In this training workshop, Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, (CBT), participants will develop a thorough theoretical understanding of cognitive behaviour therapy and the skills specific to this mode of therapy. Areas covered include an introduction to CBT, CBT with Depression, CBT with Anxiety & CBT with Anger. Participants are required to do two behavioural experiments over the time of the workshop and submit a short, written report on each. Participants have four 3hr weekly supervision group work, maximum of 6 participants with one trainer.
This gives participants a week to practice specific skills given with an assigned partner from their group. This practice is a real play which is recorded (10-15 minutes each) during the week and played back in the following supervision session with participants each taking turns as clinician and client, evaluated each week with feedback given. These assessments form part of the certificate requirements. Provided that all requirements are met, the Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy will be awarded at the conclusion of the course. This workshop is the pre-requisite for the Advanced Certificate in CBT.
