Walk and Talk:
A Model from Self Responsibility Groupwork and Indigenous Practice
03 April 2024, 5:30pm-7:00pm
This is a face to face event at Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, Marieville Esplande, Sandy Bay.
The therapeutic effect of the outdoors is an age old wisdom. It is gaining recognition as a contemporary model for counselling and psychotherapy. Therefore it is timely to consider this modality as it may relate to your clients’ well-being in a therapeutic environmental context.
This session is aimed at all practitioners as an introduction to the modality. In addition it may inspire practitioners to consider gaining skills in this approach so they can utilise it in their practice.
Event participants will receive:
An experiential exposure to the modality
A greater understanding of it applicability
Referral pathways for clients
Presenter: Nick Hall
Nick has been engaged with person centred adventure therapy since 1994. He currently runs a private practice based on 1.5 hour walk and talk sessions as well as canoeing, standup paddle boarding and swimming snorkelling. He has a wide and deep involvement with a variety of client contexts including working with refugees, youth, prisoners being released from prison to name a few.
