About PACFA’s Committees
PACFA has established a range of Committees to support and advance key areas of work aligned with PACFA’s mission and strategic priorities. These Committees play an important role in guiding, developing, and overseeing initiatives that strengthen the counselling and psychotherapy profession. In addition to standing Committees, ad hoc Committees and Working Groups are formed from time to time to address specific issues, projects, or events as they arise, ensuring PACFA can respond effectively to emerging needs within the sector.
Each Committee is chaired by a member of the PACFA Board, providing clear leadership, governance oversight, and alignment with organisational objectives. Committee members are drawn from the broader PACFA membership and are appointed by the PACFA Board in accordance with the PACFA Constitution. This structure supports transparency, accountability, and a strong connection between PACFA’s governance and its membership base. All Committees report to the PACFA Board on a quarterly basis, enabling regular review, collaboration, and strategic direction.
The work undertaken by PACFA Committees reflects the priorities of PACFA and its Member Associations, contributing directly to policy development, professional standards, education, advocacy, and member engagement. Committee participation offers members a valuable opportunity to contribute their expertise, share perspectives, and help shape the future of the profession.
