Gunawirra works closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and children- operating programs that build capacity and confidence towards healing, resilience and self-reliance. These practical grassroots programs advocate healing through culture, improvements in health and wellbeing, educational outcomes and empowering Aboriginal children, families and communities to reach their full potential.

  
What you’ll do

This is an opportunity to be part of the rewarding journey by providing strengths-based and psychodynamic and trauma-informed therapy for individuals and groups. The successful candidate will identify and develop treatment plans for a variety of mental health, trauma-related and social concerns and providing comprehensive and professional case management. They will also facilitate groups and workshops for mothers, families and staff as needed.

 The details

  • Contract position, starting with 4 hours per fortnight and additional work on an as-needed basis
  • $100 per hour
  • Located inWestmead or Northern Sydney, NSW

 

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum three years relevant work experience in trauma-informed practice and delivery
  • Demonstrated experience working with young children in a therapeutic setting 
  • Experience working with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities is desirable
