What you’ll do
This role provides professional counselling services that demonstrate evidence-based strategies to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and significant others affected by problematic substance use.The primary purpose is to provide evidence based assessment, information and treatment for clients who attend Drug & Alcohol centres.

  • Permanent full time position, 38 hours per week,with job share/part time roles considered
  • Located in Hornsby, NSW
  • Salary per week excluding super: Health professionals Level 1/2: $1,359.64 - $1,939.70; psychologist: $1,432.43 - $2,096.59

 

What you’ll bring

  • Recognised qualifications suitable for a mental health professional, such as Psychologist or Counsellor, with current registration through the relevant Professional Board of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or eligibility for Membership for Social Workers with the AASW or other relevant qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical knowledge in the assessment and treatment of people with drug and alcohol problems, and/or people with co-morbid substance use disorders and mental health problems using a range of modalities e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and experience in health promotion, quality projects and research
