Counsellor

The Role:

The purpose of this position is to support the delivery of In-person Counselling Services. The In-person Counselling Services will meet the principles and practice delivery of an inclusive, person-centred approach in Carer Counselling Services.

This position will involve a mix of travel and various forms of communication to support the carers. Travel will be necessary to meet their needs directly, while communication will also occur through in-person meetings, phone calls, and virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

- Utilising expert knowledge to deliver effective carer counselling services with the flexible application of evidence-based clinical therapies including Rogerian and CBT. An ability to demonstrate other   supportive modalities will be greatly valued within the wellbeing space

- Managing external stakeholder relationships and developing services

- Contributing to the development of, and influencing community relationships to enable the delivery of counselling services to specific carer cohort groups including LGBTI community, young carers from rural and/or remote communities, CALD Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, or social work and should be eligible for counselling accreditation body such as AASW, ACA or PACFA.

- Accreditation within an Australian professional association: minimum of PACFA provisional membership or ACA level 2

- A minimum of three years' counselling experience in Australia including experience counselling children and adolescents

- Experience in creating, analysing and utilising data and information to generate and develop a range of products (programs, publications, services)

- An understanding and demonstrated commitment to social inclusion and diversity

- Experience with clinical therapies including Rogerian and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Other Compliance required:

- Right to work within Australia

- Current valid Driver’s Licence and the ability to undertake some travel

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate

- Satisfactory National Police Records Check

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Working with Children's Check

Salary: SCHADS Level 5B ($49.28-$51.51 per hour) + Super + NFP Salary Packaging Benefits
