What you’ll do

The counsellor/therapist support Footsteps Community Services (FCS) clients through the delivery of contemporary, evidence based therapeutic interventions and support services. One of the key aspects of the role is to view clients beyond the labelled condition, thus creating an opportunity for growth by turning DISability into ABILITY.
A day in the role may include:

  • Professional counselling to children, young people, adults and their families
  • Conduct assessments with clients at the beginning and completion of therapy
  •  Maintain accurate and timely case notes
  • Compile concise and professional reports when required to external bodies, NDIS, Department of Child Safety Youth and Women, Courts and Police
  • Attend regular supervision and counselling meetings

The details

  • Part time or full-time position - Part-time employment with flexible work arrangements, and full time opportunities for the right candidates
  • Annual salary between $70,000 and $90,000 with salary sacrifice available
  • Located in Brisbane North/Brisbane South, QLD

 

What you’ll bring

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Counselling/Social Work
  • At minimum, registration with PACFA - clinical member
  • Current working with Children (Blue Card)
  • A cleared worker screening check (NDIS)
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Access to a roadworthy vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
  • Right to work in Australia

Desired:

  • An understanding of the biopsychosocial model
  • Familiarity with the adverse childhood experiences study (ACE's)
