About Lives Lived Well Shanty Creek

At our Shanty Creek Residential Rehabilitation community, we provide a safe and supportive environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women to find solutions to their drug and alcohol problems. Located 60km from Cairns, Shanty Creek can support up to 30 residents at a time with a team of 8 – 10 clinical and non-clinical staff.

  
What you’ll do

We are looking for a Team Leader to join us on a full-time, fixed-term contract until the end of June 2025 (with possible extension).  The role will be responsible for program development and delivery, including clinical governance. Salary for this position is $102,000 - $107,000 plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging. With an established career in the AOD sector – either residential or community based – the successful will be a proactive, dedicated leader looking for your next exciting challenge.

  • Located in Cairns, QLD

 

What you’ll bring

The successful candidate will hold either a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or other Allied Health field, or a lower-level qualification and significant practical experience. They will also offer the following skills to support your experience:

  • A background in developing clinical education programs and working within evidence-based frameworks
  • Leadership and mentoring skills – you’ll be supporting an established team, with a few recent additions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate well with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • An understanding of contractual obligations within a Residential facility and able to develop funder-driven reports
  • Promote an inclusive and holistic approach to client care – you will have strong cultural awareness and practice at working in a culturally safe manner 
  • Solutions-focused and passionate about process improvements – we welcome ideas and suggestions to make things better
  • A local knowledge of other service providers would be advantageous

You will also need to have a current, valid Australian Drivers Licence and a National Police Check.
