What you’ll do

Interrelate is looking to appoint a Practice Specialist who will drive excellence in the practice of counselling and group work by providing resources, advice, training and mentorship to counselling practitioners and their leaders. You will be a subject matter expert for counselling and group work, contributing where this expertise is needed across the organisation.  
Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaise with the Program Developer to ensure Interrelate’s group programs reflect current best practice, are meeting client needs and aligned to the organisation’s strategic priorities
  • Ensure Interrelate’s Clinical Governance Framework reflects current best practice that will meet the needs of clients and other stakeholders
  • Support the Learning Development team to conduct learning needs assessments for counsellors and group facilitators
  • Identify any service gaps and liaise with relevant stakeholders to co-design new innovative programs/services and products to meet these gaps
  • Represent Interrelate in professional forums and broader academic communities through conference presentations, workshops, journal articles and media

Some travel will be required as part of this role.


The details

  • Permanent full-time position, 37.5 hours per week
  • Can be based from home or any Interrelate office
  • $65.23 per hour plus super plus acesss to salary packaging benefits

 

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor degree or above in a relevant discipline e.g. counselling, psychology, social work
  • Extensive experience in clinical supervision, coaching or mentoring
  • Extensive experience and recency in the clinical practice of counselling and group work
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with high emotional intelligence
  • Experience in implementing organisational change and training staff in new clinical practice models
  • Sound understanding of counselling services within the human services sector, including government policy and current research
  • Good working knowledge of human centered design principles and their application in the human services field.
