Various drama based therapeutic methods will be described and explored, presenting a scale of practice from embodied play to the use of projective device and extending out to performative methods and the construction of therapeutic theatre. The core processes of dramatherapy (Jones); will be defined as the foundation and common language across international variations of dramatherapy practice; highlighting the specific therapeutic intents of employing theatrical methods to promote personal insight and growth.
Amanda will draw upon 20+ years’ experience as a Dramatherapist to present a range of practice-based examples reflective of the diverse participants she works alongside. Participants will be invited to engage in embodied reflection and a brief experiential to extend their understanding of dramatherapy methods and process. Time will be given for participants responses and questions.
