14 March 2024
There are five things every PACFA member needs to be ready for renewal on June 3…
1. Annual CPD Requirements
- 20 hours are required with a minimum of 10 hours in Category A.
- (In previous years, a grace period for CPD was extended for those affected by Covid-related events. This year, there will be no grace period).
2. Annual Supervision Requirements
- 10 hours of formal supervision (on client caseload, not managerial supervision) in the last 12 months. There is no grace period for this.
- Where a practitioner has accrued over 400 client practice hours per annum, they must have undertaken 15 hours of formal supervision.

3. Insurance
As part of the 2024 renewal process, members are required to provide evidence of current and adequate insurance for all aspects of practice and in all locations.
- Make sure you've got evidence of your professional indemnity and public liability insurance up to date. If you are covered by your employer, make sure you provide a letter from your employer.
4. Criminal History Check
During renewals, members are required to provide a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check certificate obtained within the last 2 years (issued after 1 May 2022).
If you have provided a police check during the last renewal period and it is still in date (issued after 1 May 2022) it is acceptable to use again for this renewal period.
5. Working with Children Check
- If you work with children or adolescents, get your Working with Children Check sorted.
