Kiritapu Murray steps into national New Zealand role

04 November 2022

PACFA has congratulated Kiritapu Murray on her appointment as Māori Director, Te Puaruruhau at the National Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.

A Registered Clinical Psychotherapist, Kiritapu has been with PACFA for twelve months in the Practice Advisor position. In her role, she provided expertise to the CEO on clinical matters and liaised with the Ethics Committee, the Professional Standards Committee (PSC), the Education Program Accreditation Committee (EPAC) and membership team to support implementation of innovative and high quality practice. She also oversaw operations in areas of Professional Development and CATSIHP.

Fortunately, Kiritapu has agreed to stay on in a part-time consultant role with PACFA for a few months as we transition into a new staffing arrangement.

Kiritapu's new role leads services for Māori children who may have experienced abuse throughout New Zealand.

'Kiritapu has made a great contribution to PACFA at a time of change and innovation,' said CEO Johanna de Wever. 'Her focus on quality and integrity and her pride in the importance of counselling and psychotherapy will not be forgotten. We wish her all the best in her important new role.'

PACFA will be advertising for a new Practice Manager in late November with the intention for someone to start with the team in 2023.
