Symbols and Sandtrays

4 - 6 September 2024, 1:00pm - 4:00pm AEST

Sandtray therapy allows for the projective expression of one's personal inner world. Learn how to respectfully invite the creation of miniature scenes and stories that help clients see, know and change. Course limited to 20 people.

This 3 x 3 hours of experiential, online training introduces you to approaches and applications of sandtray therapy. Work with a range of clients (aged 10 to 110) and therapeutic contexts will be considered.

Sandtray therapy is a powerful therapeutic method that has been around for nearly 100 years. It is a form of therapy that gives both child and adult clients the opportunity to portray, rather than verbalise, feelings and experiences often inaccessible and/or difficult to express.

Presenter:

Jacki is the Owner and Director of Sydney Centre for Creative Change. She is a registered counselling psychologist and play therapist and supervisor with over 25 years’ experience in counselling, supervision, group work and training. She has been using sandtray methods in her counselling and training practice for over 20 years with children, young people and adults. She believes in the power of metaphor and symbols to help express feelings and experiences that might otherwise be too hard to express. Passionate about supporting others to find creative ways to express, explore and resolve difficulties, Jacki loves sharing her insights about sandtray.

This course counts towards 9 hours of category A CPD.
