counselling?
07 August 2024, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm (AEST)
This is a face-to-face event
Grief is a profound and universal human experience, triggered by loss or major life change. Grief and trauma are common responses to loss and encompass a wide range of emotions and experiencing.
Experiences and reactions can be deeply influenced by our attachment style shaped by early relationships with caregivers, and can significantly impact hoe grief is processed.
In this workshop Dr Di Stow will will discuss attachment styles (secure, avoidant, ambivalent, and disorganised), impacts of Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD), and a range of therapeutic approaches including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), creative and non-verbal therapies, mindfulness, and group approaches to therapy.
Di will share her unique way of working with clients, exploring the intricate processes of grief and loss and trauma counselling, focusing on techniques that support individuals through these profound experiences. She will offer insights into effective counselling techniques that ensure clients receive comprehensive and compassionate care.
