The Casino Food Co-op is a leading export food processor with production facilities located in Casino and Booyong, near Lismore, in the Northern Rivers area of the NSW Far North Coast. 


What you’ll do

We have an exciting opportunity for a Counsellor to join our team as part of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This role will work alongside our 2 existing counsellors and will provide counselling support to our employees to ensure their ongoing emotional wellbeing. The hours for this role will be flexible to suit the ideal candidate for the position.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:

  •  Providing emotional assistance to employees and their families as part of our EAP service
  • Providing support to employees and their families experiencing emotional difficulties by helping them to identify and resolve issues within their personal and professional lives
  • Building rapport, trust and respect with employees that utilise this service
  • Identifying needs and refer employees to other suitable professional services as required
  • Regularly liaising with support providers in relation to specialised problems.

What you’ll bring

  • A minimum qualification of a Diploma of Counselling
  • Previous experience in counselling will be highly regarded
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Ability to show initiative, discretion and judgement when carrying out assigned tasks
  • Experience in a culturally diverse workforce is advantageous
  • A positive and professional attitude towards work and recognition of the importance of the service which you are providing.
