The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) remains dedicated to promoting excellence and maintaining high standards within the counselling and psychotherapy profession. In line with this commitment, PACFA’s National Awards Scheme was established to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional achievements of counselling and psychotherapy students across Australia.
The Outstanding Graduate Award
This distinguished award is presented to students graduating from PACFA accredited counselling and/or psychotherapy programs. These students have consistently demonstrated exemplary academic and professional practice performance. We warmly invite education providers to nominate such high achieving students for this award. Following the nomination process, PACFA selects the award recipients and advises the education providers of the outcome.
Each recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Award will receive:
- an Outstanding Graduate Award certificate,
- a letter of congratulations in recognition of their significant accomplishments, and
- a year’s complimentary PACFA registration at the Certified Practicing (New Graduate) level—a value of $318 (it is important to note that while the registration fee is complimentary, it remains subject to meeting the PACFA registration requirements and application assessment process).
Nomination process
We are delighted to confirm that education providers are not charged any fee to participate in the National Awards Scheme. We encourage education providers to submit nominations during the specified nomination periods. Typically, nomination periods will commence in February and September for Semester 1 and Semester 2 awards, respectively. PACFA will proactively contact education providers with an invitation for nominations. Please allow up to four weeks for PACFA to notify education providers of the outcome.
Additionally, education providers may consider further enhancing this recognition by offering additional rewards or prizes to deserving students, at the providers’ own discretion and expense.
