Interested in joining the Professional Standards Committee?

2 August 2022

The Professional Standards Committee is looking for new members, including a chairperson, who reflect the values and objectives of PACFA and can promote public safety. This is an exciting time to engage with PACFA at a committee level.

PACFA provides self-regulation functions for the counselling and psychotherapy profession. PACFA's primary object is to promote the development of the science relating to the art and practice of psychotherapy and counselling.

Practising members (registrants) are publicly listed on PACFA’s National Register.  The Professional Standards Committee oversees the core business of PACFA of ensuring registrants have demonstrated an approved level of training, experience and competence via the development of the PACFA Training Standards and by the provision of relevant information on qualified practitioners to the community and to government agencies through a national register of psychotherapists, counsellors and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healing Practitioners.

If you are an experienced practitioner with appropriate qualifications and a commitment to advancing the profession in practice, please register your interest by emailing PACFA CEO Johanna de Wever [email protected] to be provided with preliminary materials.
