PACFA and Australian Patients Association partnership announcement

PACFA is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Australian Patients Association (APA).

The APA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to championing and protecting the rights and interests of patients, and improving the patient experience and health outcomes. Their mission is to improve the well-being of patients, carers, and their families by listening to patients’ voices and supporting people to engage fully in their own care.

The APA provides a helpline utilised by hundreds of people each week, and over the past few years, the number of requests for mental health support have grown. In a huge win for PACFA members and those seeking help, the APA will refer callers looking for mental health support to the PACFA Find a Therapist directory.

The APA also works closely with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian Medical Association and is keen to support PACFA in working with these organisations to connect PACFA counsellors, psychotherapists, and Indigenous Healing practitioners with people needing mental health support.
