Rupture, Repair and Regret: A Relational Gestalt Perspective

Gestalt Therapy Brisbane

Presenters: Peter Cole and Daisy Reese

In Gestalt Therapy, healing is nurtured and catalyzed in the therapist client relationship. Whether in individual or group therapy, the fundamental relationships are those in the room. When difficulties arise between therapist and client or between group members, there is opportunity to explore and understand enduring relational themes that are being evoked and enacted.  Ruptures in the therapy relationship or between group members may well resonate with the client's earlier experiences of rupture, ie painful unfinished business and regret around relationships lost or damaged.  Working toward repair can be a source of deep healing. We will provide a framework and methodology for working with rupture, repair and regret in the context of both individual and group therapy. This workshop will offer attendees many opportunities to enliven and deepen their work with both theoretical and experiential learning.
