Rosealeen Tamaki trained as a psychotherapist and later undertook an Infant Observation to deepen her understanding of the developing self from infancy. Combined with her personal analysis and further studies she brings together her theoretical and personal awareness to her work as a psychotherapist and counsellor. Rosealeen has previously taught the undergraduate unit ‘Therapeutic Practice with Older Age Adults’, in the Psychotherapy and Counselling programme at Edith Cowan University. The combination of working with individuals and couples in psychotherapy and teaching in the university sector has combined two of Rosealeen’s deep interests and passions; the person as an individual and within a personal relationship and people coming together in group situations. Rosealeen also enjoys writing and thinking about groups and the dynamics of the group. She has a paper published (Argo Online International Journal, 2018). She is currently writing a chapter to be included in a book that is aimed at an international audience working in leadership roles in community, organisational and business groups. Rosealeen is also a member of Balint groups. She has participated in these over a number of years. These groups and others she is a member of, continue to be an invaluable part of learning and developing her capacity to bring awareness to unthought and unknown elements that exist in us all. Following her interest in groups and organisations, and her awareness of the value of ongoing professional development, including her professional organisation, Rosealeen became the Professional Development coordinator and PACFA delegate for PACAWA, prior to the integration of PACWA into the PACFA West group as we have now become. Rosealeen’s interest in individual life experiences, groups, organisations, writing, reading and the creative capacities, continues to be the bedrock of her continuing development as a person and psychotherapist.

Sally Hardwick presently lives in Geraldton, Western Australia and is a counsellor in private practice using web based conferencing as a means of counselling couples remotely. Sally has run groups for couples to help strengthen their marriages. Sally graduated with a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Edith Cowan University in 2013. Sally has been a volunteer counselling at the Spiers Centre Heathridge for three years. During this time she accrued 300 counselling hours required to qualify for her Diploma in Transactional Analysis. Sally has also completed a 2 year course in couples and family therapy at William Street Family Therapy Centre. Whilst living in the UK in 2017, Sally was able to work as a volunteer in Place2B, London, an organization working with distressed teenagers in secondary schools using art therapy. This added to her tool box of counselling approaches. Sally is mindful of the increasing mental health issues in Western Australia, and is at present studying an online Graduate Diploma in Mental Health from Southern Cross University. She feels that this added knowledge will fill a gap in her knowledge enabling her to widen her counselling portfolio.
