This workshop offers clinicians a deep exploration of the intimacy–distance patterns that shape relational life, including confluence, withdrawal, pursuit–retreat cycles, and developmental struggles around autonomy and connection. Using a relational Gestalt framework, participants learn to recognise how these patterns emerge through posture, breath, tone, pacing, narrative, and energetic presence.
Through a blend of theory, case examples, and experiential practice, therapists develop skills in tracking relational patterns in the room, supporting awareness, and intervening in ways that promote differentiation and more authentic contact. The workshop emphasises embodied and phenomenological methods, helping clinicians attune to subtle cues that illuminate attachment injuries, habitual responses, and relational constraints.
Participants gain practical tools for expanding relational flexibility, supporting clients to hold contact with self and other simultaneously, and working with couples whose patterned dynamics feel entrenched or reactive.
Delivery method: In person, with demonstration and experiential exercises.
