Couple Therapy Essentials 1
A series of 3 X 1.5hr sessions as an introduction to those new to working with couples and those considering working with couples. Each session will be a combination of presentation, reflection and Q&A.

Session one:
This session will include the following components:
- Moving from working individually to systemically
- Common couples presentations
- Managing therapist bias
- Roles of the Couple Therapist
- Couples assessment – joining & managing risk
- Meta research on thirty years of couple therapy

Steven Lionello:

Steve Lionello BA., M.Soc.Sc. (Counselling) has been counselling for thirty five years, and in private practice since 2009. Steve has specialised in couple therapy since the mid 90s, integrating concepts from Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and the Gottman Method. Steve provides training workshops and supervision in couple and family therapy within the William Street Family Therapy Centre’s Graduate Diploma in Couple and Family Therapy, and lectured in the M. Soc. Sc (Counselling) course at Edith Cowan University from 2004 – 2013 in Perth and Singapore. Steve works predominantly from a client-centred, systemic, emotionally focused approach.
