This PD is an introduction to Counselling Notes Protect Service in Queensland for counsellors, psychologists or social workers.

In this webinar you will be able to:

Learn about the Counselling Notes Protect Service and how they can help victims and counselling services.

Develop an understanding of how Sexual Assault Counselling Privilege (SACP) applies in criminal, domestic violence and civil court proceedings.

Discuss how to respond if you are served with a notice relating to SACP.

Define the difference between a subpoena and a warrant.
Develop an understanding of things to be conscious of when writing your notes and how it might impact court proceedings.

Presenter: Alison Dewar
Alison is currently the Acting Senior Lawyer of the Counselling Notes Protect team at Legal Aid Queensland. Alison has been practising law since 2016 and has recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology.

Alison practices in child protection, domestic violence and sexual assault counselling privilege. Alison currently represents victims of sexual violence in criminal and domestic violence matters. Alison also regularly contributes to policy and law reform, and provides professional development training, community legal education and other community stakeholder engagement in relation to sexual violence legislation to increase awareness and improve access to services for victims of sexual violence.
