Exploring Skills and Challenges for Engaging with Children

PACFA Recording Logo
This online interactive PD session will focus on some of the micro skills of meaningfully and collaboratively working with children in a therapeutic setting.

Emerging Minds’ Engaging Children Learning Pathway offers over 30 practice skills modules for working with children and their families. Each module includes interviews with experienced practitioners and unscripted demonstrations of practice. You’ll have the rare opportunity to watch practitioners work with child-and-parent actors, and they’ll share their reflections with you on the demonstrations.

In this interactive online session, participants will view video interviews and then gather in breakout rooms to discuss how the featured skills and practice ideas can be localized for their own practice context. There will be three rounds, each lasting around 20 minutes, covering topics like “Establishing Collaboration with Parents,” “Who’s in the Room?,” and “Getting Onto Good At.”
