Mindfulness, Self-Compassions and the Grief Journey
Mindfulness, Self-Compassion and the Grief Journey: This presentation will explore how Mindfulness and self-compassions practices can support us in our grief. The presentation will include some guidance and an opportunity to try some simple practices. It is suitable for people who already have a regular practice and those who are new to Mindfulness.
Dr Susan Delaney is a Clinical Psychologist and Mindfulness teacher who has practised, taught and published in the area of bereavement and loss for over 30 years. She is part of the international train-the-trainers group at Columbia University, NY, and also teaches Bereavement Counselling skills on the Masters programme at the Irish Hospice Foundation. Susan is the editor of Irish Stories of Loss and Hope; a book about Irish bereavement experiences, told through story, art and poetry. In 2009 she collaborated with jeweller Alan Ardiff to design the Bereavement pin for the Irish Hospice Foundation.
