Understanding grief and grieving

Queensland Branch

Understanding grief and grieving: A process better understood by integrating theory and
biology

6:00pm - 8:00pm AEST 8 July

Caring for grieving people has always been integral to mental health care even when this care has not been defined as care for loss. To do this we have relied on a few limited theories that have often not been adequate in fully understanding the complexity of the experience of grieving. As we learn more theoretically and from neurobiology we come to know the process of grieving much better, how it may become problematic and how we can care for its complexity.
