Working with Young People in Groups

6 August 2024, 9:00am - 12:00pm AEST

In this 3 hour live, online course we will focus on how to think about, structure, and run counselling groups for children and adolescents.

Peter will bring his experience leading hundreds of groups for youth between the ages of 10 - 13 years old. He will also be sharing aspects of a curriculum he has developed with a colleague entitled "Belong and Be You" (in press, Routledge).

Additionally, you can see how this curriculum links directly to what we know are the foundational developmental tasks of young adolescents.

You will gain a better understanding of child development based on the latest brain research as well as a "hands on" understanding of how to best engage youth in groups: Enhancing their social connections with others while helping them be confidently unique as individuals.
