An Online Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples

An Externship in EFT is a four- day workshop that teaches the EFT for Couples Model, including emotion theory and the importance of attachment theory in conceptualizing relationship distress.  The program will include didactic teaching with slides, experiential exercises, viewing training tapes and role play practice.  An Externship is the starting place for becoming an EFT Couples therapist.  EFT is an empirically validated approach to couples therapy that is respectful of diversity and seeks to promote ethical conduct in all couples therapy.   

Presenter/s:

Dr Jennifer Fitzgerald has a Clinical PhD from UQ and is a Clinical Psychologist and Certified EFT therapist, supervisor and trainer. She has taught EFT in every state and territory of Australia and presented at conferences in New York, Rome and Athens.     She also worked at University of Queensland for nineteen years teaching Communication Skills to medical students and EFT for couples to Clinical Psychology and Counselling students.   Jenny and her team of associates work in private practice (Emotionally Focused Therapy & Training -Australia) in Brisbane.

Dr Katie Kjelsaas is a Certified EFT supervisor and Clinical Psychologist working in private practice in Brisbane. She is an experienced EFT couples therapist and has taught several workshops with Jenny.  Katie won several awards and medals in her Psychology degrees at University of Queensland.

This course counts towards 26 hours of category A CPD.
