About the presenter
Dr Andy Ho is Associate Professor of Psychology and Medicine at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore. He serves as Board Director of the Association for Death Education and Counselling (ADEC), and the International Work Group on Death Dying and Bereavement (IWGDDB).
He is also the Founding Director of the Action Research for Community Health Laboratory, and the Director of Research of the Palliative Care Centre for Excellence in Research and Education.
A health psychologist and a social scientist who holds double Doctorates in Thanatology and Lifelong Education, Andy has pioneered numerous innovative and robust psycho-socio-spiritual interventions for supporting individuals, families and communities through difficult life adversities such as illness, loss and mortality.
A prolific author and acclaimed speaker with over 100 top-tier publications as well as more than 160 keynote and plenary presentations, his scholarly works are recognized with distinction by academic, professional and government bodies around the world.
Andy is the first Asian Recipient of the eminent ‘ADEC Academic Educator Award’ in 2018, while capturing the prestigious ‘Nanyang Education Award’ from NTU in 2019, and conferred the ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’ from the University of Hong Kong in 2020.
