Asian Focusing Methods: underpinned by mindfulness

Online via zoom

Presenter: Akira Ikemi

In this rich 3 half-days Akira’s aim is for you to both learn and experience Focusing and Asian Focusing Methods as well as something about the way of being with oneself and others as encompassed in  these methods.

Akira Ikemi, PhD is Chair of the International Focusing Institute’s Eugene Gendlin Center and is a former board member. He was first introduced to Eugene Gendlin when he was living in Boston and he became a student of Gendlin’s at the University of Chicago in 1979 when Gendlin’s Focusing was first published. So began his lifelong love of the philosophy and the practice. Growing up and living in Japan has meant that Asian culture and Buddhism have always been an influence in Akira’s life. This influence has become more pronounced over time and Akira has now incorporated Asian practices into Focusing, developing his Asian Focusing Methods.
