PAIN IS INEVITABLE. SUFFERING IS OPTIONAL: THE MANAGEMENT OF TRAUMA & PAIN WITH CLINICAL HYPNOSIS

Keynote Speaker and Workshop Facilitators:

The Congress’ primary objective is to explore the effectiveness of clinical hypnosis in the treatment of trauma and pain in medical and psychological/counselling settings. The programme consists of a Keynote Address, one 6-hr workshop and three 3-hr workshops.

Workshop 1: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Chronic Pain, explores the therapeutic tasks associated with pain management and will present a number of “bottom-up” and “top-down” strategies for pain management. (Presenter: Mark Grant MA – 6 hrs).

Workshop 2: Unravelling the Mind-Body Connection, will explore the concepts of mind/body and presents a unified approach to using hypnosis in medical and psychological settings. (Presenter: Gayre Christie PhD – 3 hrs).

Workshop 3: Managing Pain and Trauma in Psychological Medicine, explores the efficacy of hypnosis in psychological medicine by presenting a range of hypnotic strategies. (Presenter: Monica Moore MBBS – 3 hrs).

Workshop 4: Rites of Passage: Using Hypnotic Interventions to Heal Gried and Loss; presents current theory on grief and loss and will present/demonstrate specific hypnotic techniques based on regression and progression in trance. (Presenters: Diane McGreal PhD and Glenda Robertson MBusPsych – 3 hrs).

Each workshop is experientally-based and will present/demonstrate specific hypnotic techniques that delegates can immediately utilise in their own clinical setting.

The Congress setting is Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas, located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, where delegates can come together for an exciting educational and relaxing experience.
