Supporting Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse & their Partners & Families: Learnings from SAMSN

SAMSN (Survivors & Mates Support Network) supports adult male survivors of child sexual abuse and their families.

This webinar explores the ripple effects of child sexual abuse on relationships. Issues discussed include trust and attachment, intimacy, parenting, coping with addictions, and vicarious trauma. 

Therapeutic approaches that can assist survivors and their partners/ families in building strong and mutually respectful relationships are discussed, as well as tools for developing good communication.

SAMSN draws on professional knowledge and lived experience in this webinar to bring a deeper understanding of the issues and ways of addressing these. 

Presenter: Julie Blyth  

Julie Blyth is a Social Worker who has worked with survivors of child sexual abuse for over 25 years, as well as providing training and supervision in this area for clinicians.

She was one of the two Clinical Advisors at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse for 5 years, and currently  works for SAMSN supporting male survivors of child sexual abuse and their families.

Attending webinar counts as 1.5 hours of Category A CPD (Continuing Professional Development). Watching a recording of this webinar can be used as 1.5 hours of Category B CPD.

You must attend 75% of a webinar in order to receive a CPD certificate for Category A CPD.
